Spring (March-May)
We recommend this time of year because it’s generally the slower season for HVAC companies. Between March and May the temperatures are often good enough to not need your AC unit running. This is the time of year to open the windows and enjoy the natural breeze. However, Summer is around the corner!
During Spring, you should go ahead and turn your AC system on for cooling before it’s needed just to check that everything is working the way it should. If you notice things aren’t running the way they were last Summer then it’s best to give us a call and schedule that AC service before the 100 degree temps come. Get your yearly HVAC tune-up in Spring to avoid unnecessary wait times and potentially higher costs that you will experience in the Summer months.
Fall (October-November)
This is the ideal time of year to get your furnace/heating checked before the cold Winter nights creep up on you. Every year we experience a surge of calls as soon as the Winter nights start getting into the 60s. HVAC companies often have to tell their customers that it’ll be several days before they can make it out due to the high volume of calls.
For this reason, we recommend turning on your heating system earlier than needed just to test things out. Even if your system is heating fine, we still recommend getting a tune-up just to make sure your unit makes it through the Winter.

There are some signs to look out for that indicate your AC unit is struggling. If you notice any of the following it’s best to give us a call.

Let’s face it… in the Summer your unit will run for a long time. But, if your unit seems to be running all day and night and your home is still warm then that’s a problem. If your HVAC system is struggling, you could have clogged filters, leaky ducts, a failing part, or something else. Don’t ignore this sign unless you want to spend more on a costly repair down the road.
Higher Energy Bills
If the temps haven’t changed but your bill has, then that’s a sign that your HVAC system is drawing more power than necessary. Scheduling a routine HVAC maintenance will help to keep your unit running efficiently and will save you money on your energy bills.
